School Careers Fair for Year 9, 10 and 11

Today was an amazing and important day for our children, A career Fair.

A career fair is an event where a large number of students and potential employers gather for the purpose of providing information about each job's field available that students would had chosen for the future.

Various desks were managed by professional people with different specialities based on resources and information's. This fair had managed to successfully given ways to direct the children into taking the right steps towards their chosen career and moving closer to their choice of exams subjects.
Each one of the person specialised in a specific field explained to the children to use every avenue they can to maximise their chances of finding the right choice of a future job.
A careers fair is an excellent opportunity to meet potential employees face to face and learn ways of marketing yourself to the chosen industry. Even they haven’t yet reached the GCSE and are still in further study, careers fairs are still worthwhile as a source of information and contacts.
There were all different fields like, Accountancy, Science, Art Engineering, History, Pharmacy, Medicine and so many others.

Wishing them all every success in their future.

MOSAIC AT BRONDESBURY COLLEGE FOR BOYS

PTA's members will do their best to keep you informed about various activities at Brondesbury college for Boys.

Last year, some children from BCB had participated to Mosaic Leadership Program, it has been a great success (please see feedback in previous posts). We are very pleased to inform you that a number of our pupils will have once again the opportunity to be mentored by successful Muslims from a wide range of backgrounds.

BCB current involvement with Mosaic will includes:
Mosaic Stars Programme (Developing the leaders of tomorrow inchallah)
World of work visits
Young apprentice
Young Inventors Award
Enterprise Challenge.
BCB is now going to be involved in Mosaic's Secondary School Mentoring Programme. This Connects successful Muslims from a wide range of background with young Muslims and their peers aged 11 to 18 years. The mentor network includes individuals drawn from a wide range of professions and backgrounds who can inspire and motivate young people to fulfil their potential by sharing their own experiences and discussing some of the challenges they might face. Mentees (children) also benefit from World of Work visits and engagement with Mosaic's Speakers Bureau.

Mentors commit to three hour long sessions in an academic year. These sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm. A session has already taken place on Wednesday 24th November 2010. There will be 2 more sessions, 1st and 8th December 2010.
As there are limited number of places available, Mr. Ali will be selecting students on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE; a letter was sent home with every child, hoping that you have completed the slip and return it to school.

WRESTLING: PRESENTATION OF MEDALS FOR LAST YEAR WINNERS!!!

Today is an important day!!! Medals will be presented officially to winners.

The term wrestling is an Old English word that originated some time before 1100 A.D. It is perhaps the oldest word still in use in the English language to describe hand-to-hand combat.

This is a celebration, not only of sport but it is a celebration of fitness, of healthy lifestyles, of youth, of humanity and education—embracing all the education values.

We have seen some remarkable performances. We are also very supportive of the fact there is a strong educative program.

It is an important youth event so PTA is very happy to promote this sport at Brondesbury.

Well Done to all participants.
